I am Othello W. Johnson, III. I am President of Dialysis
Visionaries Works, Inc. as of 2025. I’ve been an active
member since 2017.
I am a native of Miami, Florida.
Professionally, I worked in the newspaper industry in
Operations Management for a number of prominent media
organizations. I began my dialysis journey in 2014 after
being diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Failure.
Since
then I spent 4.5 years on dialysis while following a rigid
diet and heavily restricted fluid consumption restraints. I
joined DVW, Inc. in 2017 after meeting Rodney Sanders, the
former and most recent President. I came on board as Vice
President.
I was able to share my story of struggles,
resiliency, and triumph having to accept the challenge of
navigating my new lifestyle of taking medication regularly,
being on a restrictive diet, and doing dialysis 3x’s per
week.
In early October of 2018 I received a much
needed kidney transplant. While overjoyed, I remained a
member of DVW because my testimony of navigating dialysis
and experiencing transplantation was important to shape and
encourage others to keep up the fight and a return to good
health.
My leadership and oversight of this great
organization will allow me to fulfill my purpose to take our
organization and its members to new heights. I serve to
serve others.
